The Studio
Willow Print & Framing is a small framing studio based in Glenealy, Co. Wicklow. The work here is rooted in traditional framing methods and a slower way of making. Each frame is made by hand, one at a time, with careful attention given to proportion, materials, and finish. The aim is simple: to frame work well, without distraction, and to make something that will last.
The studio is run by a trained framer with a background in Art History and over twenty years’ experience working with artworks, prints, and original pieces.
Materials are sourced from Glenwood Mouldings, a local supplier & small business. Keeping materials close to home allows for consistency, quality, and a more considered way of working.
Materials & Craft
Only well-chosen, reliable materials are used. Frames are made from natural wood, selected for its strength, grain, and quiet character. Many are left with a plain, natural finish, allowing the wood to speak for itself. Where preferred, frames can also be finished with a stain.
All work is mounted using acid-free mount board, helping to protect artwork from ageing, discolouration, and damage over time. Mounts can be single or double mounted, depending on the piece and what suits it best.
Frames can be customised to suit each individual work, including:
- Titles or details added to the mount board
- A choice of glass or other protective materials
- Natural or stained wood finishes
